1999 was the beginning of it all!
Helloooooooooooooooooooo! Here is the short version of our story.
Ironically we met in a bar both moonlighting as bartenders, and while working together we formed a great relationship. We got married in November 1998 and decided we would love to have a place of own. In April 1999, we jumped in head first into our own business with everything we had and before we knew it we were bar owners. And then it was written, we took over TJ's of Haledon and made it TJ's Pub (for starters). We opened up on a Monday night and were packed with all of our family & friends. We were in awe of the turn out and knew we did the right thing, it just felt like home.
One year later, we changed our name to Jimmy Geez Sports Bar & Grill. It has been a crazy ride and we have learned a lot of hard lessons along the way, but we have made memories that cannot be replaced. We have had a lot of laughs, lost some dear friends and created bonds with lots of amazing people. We have had great staff members that are as salty as they are sweet. We have watched our family grow and watched our customers become spouses, parents, grandparents, homeowners and unfortunatetly widows. We have shared a lot of happiness and shed some tears. We have raised thousands of dollars for local charities & shelters in our community. This is what makes Jimmy Geez NOT your ordinary place, but a second home. You know that you will always be greeted with a smile and fun sarcasm that cannot be duplicated anywhere.
We have been truly blessed. It has been worth every second!
